The offering date is the official date at which a company sells its shares on a stock market for the first time in an venture capital and private equity investors) prepares a prospectus that is sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a review.

After the prospectus has been approved, the company’s offering date is finalized, which is supposed to become effective 20 days after the selesai amendments to the prospectus are filed with the SEC. It is possible that the SEC may grant an acceleration so that the sale of share becomes effective immediately.
